The IT industry is a major consumer of energy and a contributor to greenhouse gas emissions. As use of technology intensifies, IT leaders must place environmental sustainability high on their agendas. Information and communications technology companies and IT departments will have to decide whether they want to help solve one of the greatest problems facing society over the coming decades by proactively addressing technology, emissions and their effects on global climate change.
