Edward Speed joined Spencer Stuart in 1990, and has more than 24 years of executive recruiting experience across a range of board and senior management positions. He is a member of Spencer Stuart’s worldwide board and Chairman of the U.K. business.
He co-leads the EMEA Boards & CEO Practice, focusing on CEO search and succession, and has recruited chairmen, non-executive directors, CEOs and top management for leading public and privately owned companies. He formerly had responsibility for the broader Consumer Goods & Services Practice in Europe which, in addition to consumer packaged goods, included retail, luxury & apparel, hospitality & leisure and marketing services.
Edward is active in the firm’s Executive Assessment Services Practice where he specialises in senior management assessment and post-merger integration consulting.
In his early career, he served in senior management roles with a British manufacturing group and an international food company before spending three years with a leading recruitment firm. He has lived and worked in France, Germany and the Middle East.
A graduate of Cambridge University, Edward speaks Arabic, French and German.
