Cliff Howe leads Spencer Stuart's Energy Practice in Canada and also is a member of the Financial Services, Clean Technology, Business & Professional Services and the Financial Officer practices.
Cliff manages the Calgary office and has experience recruiting executives across a broad spectrum of companies.
Cliff is a chartered accountant who began his professional career with KPMG in Calgary and then spent nine years at TransCanada, where he held various vice president roles in the energy trading, marketing, risk management and CFO groups. After helping TransCanada divest its energy marketing and trading business in 2002, Cliff joined Risk Capital as a partner and opened its first Canadian office in Calgary. Risk Capital was an independent management consulting firm headquartered in New York that provided risk and transaction advisory services to companies in the energy, chemicals, mining and financial services industries. In 2006, Towers Perrin acquired Risk Capital and Cliff worked in Towers Perrin's enterprise risk management and executive compensation and rewards groups before joining Spencer Stuart. Cliff holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary and a CA designation from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
