Grant Duncan is a member of the firm’s Technology, Communications & Media, Consumer Goods & Services and Marketing Officer practices. He brings more than 25 years as a senior leader in advertising, marketing and executive search his role.
Before joining Spencer Stuart, Grant was a partner and the brand strategy leader at a boutique executive search firm specializing in the marketing services sector. Prior to that, he was at Publicis Group, where he rose from managing director to CEO of the agency’s U.K. operation. Grant led Publicis from 8th to 5th in the UK agency rankings; transformed it from an ad agency into a 450-person communications company spanning new media, direct marketing, CRM, publishing, design and advertising; and managed global relationships with blue-chip clients such as Renault, L’Oreal and Ericsson.
Grant’s 25 years in advertising also included senior roles and work on award-winning, market-defining campaigns at Collett Dickenson & Pearce, Gold Greenlees Trott and TBWA. He is past chairman of the communications industry charity NABS and of the Advertising Standards Authority’s advisory panel, and was a fellow and council member of the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising. Grant is a former nonexecutive director of Tele-Cine Cell Group plc and currently sits on the boards of the Marketing Society and the new media agency World Archipelago.
Grant was educated at Dulwich College, holds an M.A. from St. Andrews University, and is a graduate of the INSEAD Advanced Management Programme. He speaks English, French and German.
