Akhil Verma is a consultant in Spencer Stuart’s India office, based in Mumbai. He is a leader within the Chief Financial Officer Practice, in India, and also is a core member of the firm’s Technology, Communications & Media, Industrial and Professional Services practices.
Akhil is an experienced senior manager with an exceptional global outlook and has lived, worked and led projects on five continents. Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Akhil was Group CFO and head of India operations for MobiApps Holdings, a Singapore-headquartered telematics (tracking systems & technologies) company. Immediately prior to that, he was an expatriate manager, leading MarketTools’ Hyderabad-based India operations center. MarketTools is a market research and analytics company. He also served as that company’s VP of finance, based in San Francisco. Prior to that, Akhil spent nearly 10 years with BearingPoint, previously known as KPMG Consulting, in a variety of roles and projects, in the U.S., Singapore and Brazil. These included several M&A transactions, working on the KPMG Consulting IPO in 2001, leading its Asia Pacific finance function and leading the deployments of its shared services centers in Asia Pacific and Latin America. Prior to KPMG, Akhil held roles as a management consultant at Coopers & Lybrand (now known as PricewaterhouseCoopers) and as a finance officer with Pfizer.
Akhil received a M.B.A. degree with a concentration in international business from Southern New Hampshire University, in the U.S. and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Bombay University in India. He is a passionate aviation enthusiast and is a licensed private pilot. Akhil is also an avid student of anthropology, primarily social anthropology and history.
