Emeric Lepoutre joined Spencer Stuart in 2006 as a member of the European operating team and was office manager of the Paris office until 2010. He currently leads the firm’s European Legal Practice and is also member of the firm’s Board Services Practice.
Emeric brings to Spencer Stuart 12 years of executive search experience after 10 years of practicing law. Having conducted considerable search work in the legal, tax and compliance areas for law firms and corporations, Emeric also has developed extensive expertise in board assignments and related senior management search.
Emeric is a lawyer by education. From 1989 to 1999, he practiced merger and acquisition and stock exchange law in Paris, Barcelona and New York for international law firms, including leading U.K. firm Clifford Chance and leading U.S. firm Jones Day. He joined the Paris office of another international executive search firm in 1999, became a partner in 2000, was promoted to senior partner in 2001, became managing partner of the Paris office in 2002 and, in 2004, was named managing partner for southern Europe. He also was in charge of the worldwide legal practice and of the European functional practices.
Emeric received his Ph.D. in international corporate law at Paris Sorbonne University. He is a former member of the Paris, Barcelona and Madrid Bars.
Emeric is bilingual French and Spanish and fluent in English.
