Dr. Dieter Unterharnscheidt is the Managing Director of Spencer Stuart`s operations in Germany and Austria and is a member of the global Industrial Practice, as well as the European CFO and Board Services practices. Specializing in the energy and utilities, public services and automotive sectors, Dieter has recruited senior-level executives, including managing directors and board members, and maintains a deep knowledge of the German energy market. He also conducts high-level searches for finance and administration, sales, marketing and manufacturing positions in several other industries.
Dieter launched his career as a management consultant in 1987 and began his search career in 1996 as a partner with another international search firm. Prior to joining Spencer Stuart in 2004, Dieter was managing director of investment banking for Bankhaus Metzler. Earlier, he was active in investment banking and corporate finance for the Matuschka group in Munich.
Dieter holds a degree in business administration and a Ph.D. from the University of Frankfurt. He is married and has three children.
