Bruce Lachenauer has more than 15 years of executive search experience and is an active member of the firm’s CEO and Board Services practices and a former leader of the global Computing Systems and Semiconductor practices. Bruce has completed hundreds of executive and board director search assignments. He has assisted companies ranging from Fortune 100 companies to early-stage venture capital-backed startups with multiple executive and board placements in all regions of the world.
Prior to joining Spencer Stuart in 2002, Bruce was a senior partner with another leading international executive search firm, where his experience included serving as country manager for the firm’s operation in Mexico. Before beginning his career in executive search, Bruce enjoyed a broad set of industry experiences. He began his career with IBM and later joined a private equity firm, serving as CEO of one of the portfolio companies he acquired. After recruiting a successor to lead the portfolio company, Bruce joined an early-stage technology company that he helped grow and ultimately sold to a large competitor.
Bruce presents in a variety of forums on topics ranging from the war for talent to board governance. He is a member of the board of directors of Octane, Orange County's principal business growth and development organization and a supporter of Orange County’s Forum for Corporate Directors. A 1981 graduate of Northwestern University with a B.A. in economics, Bruce earned an M.B.A . from Harvard Business School in 1987.
